When December rolls around each year, it’s time to make gingerbread cookies. This no-fail recipe is simple, fun and delicious. Serve these cookies with a hot cup of Joe or a tall glass of milk. Season’s Greetings!

Ingredients
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1½ tsp. baking powder
- ¾ tsp. baking soda
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. ground ginger
- 1¾ tsp. ground cinnamon
- 6 tbsp. unsalted butter
- ¾ cup dark brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup molasses
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Prepare baking sheets by lining with parchment paper.
- In a mixer on low, combine butter, sugar, egg, molasses, and vanilla until creamy.
- In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients.
- With mixer on low, gradually add dry ingredients.
- A thick cookie dough will form.
- Remove ball of dough and place on floured surface, and roll out with rolling pin until ¼ inch thick.
- Use cookie cutters to make desired cookie shapes, and placed on baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Allow to cool on rack for 30 minutes.
- Decorate cookies as desired.
