Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Serves: 3 Dozen Cookies
Ingredients
- ¾ cup vegetable shortening
- 1¼ cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Mix shortening, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
- Gradually add into shortening mixture at low speed until smooth.
- Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets.
- Bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to wire rack to cool.
