This Chicken Agrodolce is one of my favorite bold chicken recipes. It hits every tastebud just perfectly with its sweet, sour, and brine-y flavors. And the longer you marinate the chicken, the better! Enjoy!
Chicken Agrodolce (Sweet and Sour)

Ingredients
- 2 lbs Chicken, cut up
- 1 cup red wine vinegar
- ½ cup dates, chopped
- ⅔ cup green olives with pimentos, halved
- ¼ cup capers
- 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup EVOO
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh flat leaf parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together vinegar, dates, olives, capers, garlic, honey, EVOO, Salt and Pepper. Place chicken in a large zip locked bag and pour marinade over. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the chicken. Let the chicken marinate over night or for up to three days.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Assemble chicken and marinade on a baking sheet, making sure not to overcrowd the chicken.
- Bake for 1 hour or until chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with parsley.
- Enjoy!
