Ingredients
- ¾ cup vegetable shortening
- 1¼ cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In an upright mixer, combine shortening, brown sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla extract on low speed.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and oats.
- Add dry mixture gradually to the wet ingredients and continue to mix on low speed.
- Add raisins and chips and turn mixer off after a moment.
- Drop by tablespoonful or small ice cream scoopful onto a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
