This Caramel Apple Pie is the ultimate Fall dessert. The gooey sweet caramel filling compliments the tangy Granny Smith apple slices perfectly. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

Ingredients
- 1 frozen pie crust, thawed
- 4 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced into ½" slices
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- Zest and Juice of one lemon
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp nutmeg
- ⅓ tsp salt
- 11 individually wrapped caramel chews, unwrapped
- ⅓ cup butter, unsalted and cut into ½ inch cubes
- For the topping:
- ½ cup flour
- ¼ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup butter, at room temperature
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, toss apples, flour, lemon zest and juice, vanilla extract, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and caramel chews.
- Pour mixture into pie crust. Sprinkle the butter cubes on top of the apple mixture.
- In order to assemble the crumble, mix the flour, white and brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, vanilla extract, and butter in a large bowl. With your hands press the ingredients together to form a crumbly consistency.
- When the crumbs are about pea-sized, sprinkle them on top of the apple mixture.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
