My Asian Turkey Pot Stickers are incredibly delicious, addictive and versatile. They can be served as an appetizer or a meal all by themselves. Serves: 40 Dumplings
Ingredients
- Approximately 40 pot sticker/dumpling wrappers
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1 large egg whisked
- 1 clove fresh minced garlic
- 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp julienned scallions
- 1 tsp dark brown sugar
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- Vegetable oil to coat wok
Instructions
- Unwrap pot sticker/dumpling wrappers, place on a dish, and cover with a moist towel to prevent from drying out.
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, egg, garlic, ginger, ketchup, mustard, scallions, brown sugar, and soy sauce.
- Before assembling dumplings, be sure to have a small bowl with water at your work station. Using fingers, moisten the edges of each wrapper and place about 1 tbsp meat filling directly in the center of the wrapper.
- Be careful not to over-stuff each dumpling, as it will make it nearly impossible to keep them closed.
- Fold one side of the wrapper over the other, making sure to press out all air bubbles and adhere the moistened edges together firmly.
- Once the dumpling is closed, shape as desired.
- Set finished pot stickers on a greased baking sheet and cover with a moist towel.
- Once all pot stickers have been assembled, heat a large wok on medium heat with 1 tbsp vegetable oil and set about 10 pot stickers in the wok.
- Cook without moving them for about 2 minutes and then add ¼ cup of water and cover with a large pot cover and allow to steam for about 3 minutes.
- Pot stickers will be slightly browned and glossy looking when they are cooked.
- Remove cooked dumplings, wipe down the wok and repeat this process until all pot stickers are cooked.
- If they are not going to be served immediately, place pot stickers in a glass baking dish and cover with plastic wrap.
- Before serving, remove plastic wrap and heat in the oven at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes.
- Serve with favorite Asian dipping sauce.
